What is Tower Jam?

Tower Jam is your chance to get on a REAL stage with other Tower Music students and play a REAL gig, no matter what your age or skill level!! Tower Jam is an eight week program where we sort the students into bands, learn 4-5 songs, and play a Sunday afternoon concert at Jilly's in High Ridge!

Tower Jam will introduce Tower Music students to the basics of creating and performing in a band. Enrolled students are placed in a band based on age, musical preference, and availability. Throughout the course they will learn songs, practice as a band weekly, and at the end of the nine-week course they will perform a set on stage at a local venue..

Each band will consist of four to five students and one instructor who will learn four songs in a variety of styles based upon their musical preferences and skill levels. The songs will be chosen by the instructors with input from the students.

Requirements

·The student must be enrolled in Tower Music private lessons. Their instructor can help them work through their parts and ensure they will be well prepared by the date of the show.

·The student must be able to understand and play basic notes and chord symbols. A student's private instructor can usually tell if they are ready to get involved. Most student can join after they have been playing for about a year

·The student must practice sufficiently to keep up with the rest of the band. You and the other members of your group are all relying on each other to learn the songs and make the show a huge success!
